. >> that was dino patti djalal, the presidential spokesperson in indonesia. i spoke to him early. kathy joins us, cnn producer in indones indonesia. she's in front of the marriott. the ritz is five minutes away. kathy, update us on what has happened so far. >> reporter: well, colleen, as we heard from the presidential spokesman, himself, the details here are very, very sketchy. we spoke to a local police official who told us that the bomb that went off at the marriott hotel, which is just right behind me, most likely came from the basement beneath the coffee shop which is on the ground floor. what we saw from the hotel, on the left side were windows that were broken but not exactly shattered. i must say that this hotel doesn't look as badly damaged as it was in 2003 when it was also bombed by terrorists. is people were killed in that attack. from this attack we're hearing from local media reports and also from the spokesman that both attacks on the marriott and ritz-carlton, nine people were killed and dozens injured. the injured were brought out of the hotels earlier to a nearby
