here is abc seven news anchor dion lim.r: as san francisco exits its covid state of emergency tuesday, it is braced to welcome back tours and guests. according to the city hotel council, occupancy went from a pre-pandemic high of 80% to a low of 8%. the 20 ended just shy of 6% occupancy. the san francisco board of supervisors passed a $9 million settlement for the hotel that comes after a lawsuit by the hotel parent company. alleging property damage caused during the pandemic. i spoke to a former employee of the hotel who did not want to go on camera but says homeless gas a mess, destroying walls, flooring and televisions. in 2022, abc 7 hotels used to house about 4000 on house. >> it is great. anything off the streets is great. reporter: we stopped by the tilden hotel which advertises itself as the best hotel in san francisco to learn more about how funds will be used in their renovation, it was closed. calls to their pr company were also unanswered. dion lim, abc 7 news. reggie: coming up, a break in the wet weather in th

dion lim has been digging into the story. she joins us out with a story you will only see on seven.s has been a challenging story to report on because there are long-standing state privacy laws in place protecting juveniles. the lack of information about child suspects allegedly involved in violent crimes is concerning parents and community members. they are asking who is protecting us. >> i was shocked, scared, and devastated. he was mumbling that he got stabbed and did not stop the bleeding. reporter: those words are from the family of a 15-year-old boy who was violently stabbed it what san francisco police a was a random attack on this bus near union square at the afternoon of march 13. scared to talk on camera, they answer to my questions via text. >> it was shocking and devastating to hear he was stabbed without provoking anyone. reporter: most shocking, the suspect is just 12 years old. this photo is of a knife which documents the suspect allegedly through into bushes. at the 15-year-old victim nearly lost his life. >> i felt like i was having a heart attack. feeling helpless
