"wicked" and "gladiator ii" continue to perform driving it to a record for thanksgiving weekend more than $100 million more than the prior box office record for the weekend. the box was office down 10.5% year to date through sunday before thanksgiving. now, it is down to 6.5% year to date. theater stocks all ending the day higher. sinemark saying it hit a new thanksgiving record and the second best november domestic box office performance yet. amc saying friday was the highest friday of all-time. >> box office numbers are not inflation adjusted, correct? >> these are not inflation adjusted. what is important here is that with those ticket sales also comes things like popcorn sales and those prices definitely gone up along with inflation as have ticket sales. so, even if you account for the fact that there has been ticketing inflation, if you look at the fact that this thanksgiving box office was $100 million more than th

disney plus is making a move to integrate espn+ in the platform. a tile is inside the app. it might seem like nothing or just a minor thing. what it says about disney's overall media strategy. >> this is a strategic step to get disney plus subscribers to adopt a bundle and drive adoption of the espn flagship app when it launched next fall. they are getting a free taste. targeted at casual sports fans. it will be integrated into disney plus search. when subscribers click on content, they are prompted to subscribe to the other apps as part of a bundle. disney is looking to show its 123 million disney plus subscribers that this app can be their go-to for convent, including sports, hulu and other content add ones looking to keep the nearly 26 million espn+ subscribers locked in by making sports easier to access and looking to grow that number. this is all part of the plan to give the 71 million linear tv subscribers that paid for espn as part of a bundle an option to pay for s p spn a la carte. it's a necessary move of breaking espn free from the bundle. now disney faces a decision of how to price its flagship service. sources tell me that the sports bundle venue would have offered insights. but since it was blocked, t

disney's might have opened short of expectations. putting some high-stakes to keep it up. good morning. >> even with the disappointment of mufasa's low opening last season, disney returned to its spot on top the box office share after falling behind universal after a massive 2025 disney films of the year. moana, inside out, deadpool and wolverine. while the mufasa opening did fall short of expectations and raised concerns about the upcoming snow white, the studio got a big boost from the bob dylan bio, an unknown that opened to positive reviews and awards. next year will be the ultimate test of the ceo's focus on turning around the studios. it expands from the wide releases that had this year to 12 wide releases next year and coding sequels to captain america, utopia and avatar. and what disney says is the best slate since before the pandemic. as the studios under pressure to continue to turn old franchises into new blockbusters. as it did with moana and inside out. disney shares have lagged the s&p 500 since the company was restructured two years ago to prioritize the films among other things. and not just for the studio performance but for driving content across all of disney's divisions including disney plus and the parks. andrew. >> what is your take on the moana
