shares of disney are getting a boost after bob iger agreed to a contract extension that will keep him on top until july of 2019. bloomberg intelligence director of research sweeney joins us from the bureau in princeton, new jersey, to dig into this. it was not entirely unexpected that he would stay on at the helm of the company especially because it seems like they are finding it tough to replace him. paul: i can only imagine it must be difficult to find someone to fill the shoes of bob iger who has had so much success. clearly the succession plan c company spent well over -- plan the company spent well over 10 years planning and of left the company in a lurch -- i don't think they had a plan b. they have been trying to entice bob iger to stay on a little bit longer and by the company a little more time so they can try to identify a successor. julie: i have a chart of disney versus other media stocks since bob iger took over as ceo back at the end of 2005 and disney has indeed outperformed over that time although it failed to re-attain the record trading levels where it was in 2015. is espn the big problem for disney and what does bob iger need to do to
