you can talk in a bit more detail about the way in which you can use outside organizations like the dnc to house some of their sort of best and brightest, if you will? >> totally. yeah, it's a great question because it's a little bit under-appreciated just how much they've been using the dnc, and by they i mean the biden opoperation for a really long time now. even when biden became president when he was running in 2020 some of his top aides sat down and said what is this going to turn into if he does win and run for re-election? starting then even before the transition back in 2020 they started putting money and resources into the dnc and making plans what this re-election might look like. during the mid-term time period you had democrats led by the white house, biden's white house deploying a lot of resources in the swing states and building updata operations, digital operations, in an attempt to try to be ready for this. one of the deputy campaign managers said to me earlier this year, he said while the republicans are going through their messy primary and focusing on other things, i

they had been sitting at the dnc, building the digital and data operations for the last three years.ot nothing. 55 staffers, three-year program, already in progress before biden is really beginning his reelection campaign in earnest. gabe, what is the biden campaign worried about in terms of outside x-factors? i would ask, no labels and their effort, or third party candidates. can you talk a little bit about that? >> absolutely, there is a lot of potential for chaos with a lot of the third party candidates. that is definitely a major point of concern. another one is a more fundamental one, which is they don't know what the battleground will look like in a year. often, people said to me, to make the point, well, things will get better, at this point, in 2019, we did not know what covid was, and trump had not been impeached yet. that is true, but these things camper both ways, and as they stand now, they do have problems where there are a lot of democrats, including young voters, who are either looking at the third party candidates or are not happy with biden and might sit this out. a

so i'm curious about the dnc's position because i imagine that you would love to try to beat president trump on the merits but right now is the court your best hope? >> well, it's not because we beat former president trump once. we can beat him again. we have to remember we look back at 2016, the night before the election, every single poll said that hillary clinton was going to be president of the united states. every single poll was wrong. i think polls will be wrong again. we're still over eight, nine months before the 2024 presidential election. light years in politics. i don't really go by polls. i think i go by the sentiment of the people and look at where the economy is going. inflation going down, job creation up. gas prices going down. things are looking up for president biden. whether the polls say one thing or another i'm more interested on election day and i think biden will beat trump once again. >> bill: ten months to battle that out. >> dana: ten months feels like a long time or next week? >> bill: might be here in a heartbeat. >> it will fly. >> bill: thanks for coming
