heavy rain has led to flooding in dodge county today.. it was enough to force schools to evacuate in mayville. that's where we find our rachelle baillon tonight... she joins us live... good evening. the rainfall prompted rising waters that rushed toward two area schools. both canceled class and sent students home while volunteers and first responders tried to protect the buildings. several inches of rainfall in a short time span led to rising waters and flooding in the city of mayville wednesday morning. as a result, students were evacuated from two area schools. 'we kept watching the water and as it kept coming it was getting further and further and faster and faster and then it broke the curb over here on horicon street.' the principal at st. johns says within half an hour the water started running down the side of the 9:30. classrooms also emptied at the nearby parkview school around 1 p-m, when students were transferred to a park pavilion for parents to come pick them up.
