about 20 miles west of dodge city. five cars ended up on their side and amtrak said the train had two locomotives and the train carrying 220 passengers. those not injured are on an alternative transportation. >>> heavy rains got -- a water ray never saw this current at the height of the drought and today, it has excepted a crest well below flood stage. >>> this loud buzz is heard more and more as heavy rains topple trees. this huge pine fell onto highway 1 near jenner. apart of the freeway was shut down for hours as crews used a chain saw to clean up the mess. >>> powerful rains -- it devoured a light pole sparking a gas leak and evacuations. the grounds gave way on rainbow lane and center street by the shopping center. steve vasquez on the sinkhole that crews are struggling to fix. >>reporter: when the sinkhole appeared, it was 8-feet deep and didn't seem to be causing a problem. the sinkhole kept growing and around 5:00, a traffic light pole fell into the hole and punctured a gas leak. >> when the first officer said

>>reporter: 20 miles west of dodge city t the train travelling from los angeles to chicago when the incident occurred shortly after midnight. >> all of a sudden, we got a little bit of turbulence. and it became more drastic and after about 3 seconds, you knew something was wrong. >>reporter: 128 passener js and 14 crew members on board. amtrak says the train was made up of two locomotives and 9 cars, five of which ended up on the other side of the track. two others off the tracks, but those cars stayed standing. >> we had to take and help people up and off the -- actually be a side door. ended up being a door on the top of the train car. and so, we had to take and help lift the patients up. and then, set ladders up and bring them down on ladders. >> i heard people crying for help, you know, looking for folks, it was a really dark field. so everyone was just kind of bonn both sides of the train -- on both sides of the train, looking for people, family members. >>reporter: all are off the train and accounted for. 2 dozen people taken to the hospital for treatment, none of the injuries are life
