we -- you know, i was talking to somebody else, former atf today who said that these things doent tend to happen as a result of an immediate dispute. generally speaking, it's something that's thought out. this guy had an extended magazine and certainly had enough firepower in a handgun to be able to kill 12 people. what's your sense of what happened here? >> well, that's exactly right. the killer at virginia tech killed 32 people and he only used handguns. handguns are very deadly in a crowded venue like this, ali. yes, think of the preparation of the killer. he's dressed all in black. i mean, this is a big deal for him. this is his big night. i mean, he's dressed all in black, he's got the magazines, he's likely shot multiple magazines inside. it only takes a second to reload a magazine and he likely shot a number. we don't know how many he had, but i wouldn't be surprised if he shot four or five, six or more. that could be as likely as 60, 70, 80 rounds. every shot he fired wouldn't have been a fatal shot. he might have missed some, wounded people, shot people multiple times. he coul
