the doj has its pardon process. pardon counselor recommendations come over to the white house counsel, go to the president. sometimes the white house counsel can do recommendations. sometimes people just of come in through the side door and ask for a pardon. and sometimes that's resulted in legal action. thinking tail end of the clinton administration. there were some investigations over some pardons and, you know, it's one of these powers that i think is plenary the president gets to gets to do it. if he writes it on a post-it note, i guess that's a pardon. but if you try to sort of present that in court to quash an indictment, a judge is probably not going to really think that's a real pardon. so there is this kind of balance. and i think that you it's up to the president how he wants to do it. i tried to you know, we always wrote memos. we always brief to. and at least in my time, there were a lot of robust discussions about pardons and, you know, it wasn't necessarily the traditional through doj process the time
