so, dolan has an outstanding piece of real estate. the other thing he likes is that larose who has also tried to align himself with trump has gone hard after the trump base. the trump voters. what dolan wants is a strong enough showing from larose to take just enough votes away from moreno to allow him a path to win this thing with the purity of the vote. the closer it gets to 25, that is where dolan wants to see in this race. that being said, if you are dolan, here is the biggest source of concern for you right now. these numbers may look good. but these numbers are basically mail in votes. the mail ballots are counted, tabulated and released first in ohio. if you see 18% of the vote in, you take a look in summit county. this isn't even 1% of the vote. you are looking here, franklin county. this the state capitol. one of the other biggies in this thing. 12%. you are looking at mail-in ballots. everyone watching this probably knows, since the explosion in mail-in voting back in the 2020 presidential election, overwhelmingly, it is dem

and you have dolan who is being backed by the strength of his race when he lost to j.d. vance-backed candidate. and we have areas where they have more college degrees and dolan was strong around cleveland and around columbus back in 2022 and ran up the good margins there, but ohio has blue-collar working areas, and areas demographically in the trump wheelhouse, and this is why the state is more redder when trump emerged in 2016, and the areas were resistant to dolan in 2022 and that is the biggest challenge if he is going to be fending off the trump-backed moreno. and if the democrats have any chance of winning back the majority, they have to win ohio, and more involved, but with ohio with the expectation that trump is going to carry the state in fall, that is an enormous headwind for sherrod brown, but this state, one that we will be revisiting a ton between now and november. >> we will watch what happens tonight. it could be close or a blowout. vaughan, you in arizona where president biden is set to hold a rally tomorrow. take us through primary day there. >> right, an

dolan did well in these areas relatively speaking, but it was expected he would win some of these andake this closer state wide. i think more of a sweeping victory for moreno in this primary than was expected coming into it. >> how is it shaping up in the battleground states? >> there is a general expectation ohio will be a red state this november, which will make the task for sherrod brown, democratic senator, difficult. he has to win over trump voters in that state. we have new polling out from some battleground states here, this is from marist. north carolina, brand-new poll, they have trump at 51, biden at 48. north carolina, we don't know exactly what it is going to look like in the general election. a red state in '16 and '20. this is the red state that democrats think they can put into play. they want to put it into play and if they ever could and ever could win it, that would be a net gain, a gain of electoral votes for biden and could offset losses elsewhere. north carolina is a significant state from that standpoint. of all the red states from 2020, this is the one democrats
