when she first got there, she was coming out of her cell and one of the guards said "hey dolly." and she said "who are you? i don't know you. you can calmly mrs. mac." tried to be her own person in prison. there is a wonderful anecdote which i think kent armstrong captured which said she wouldn't eat in the cafeteria. she wanted her food to be brought to her because she that eating in the cafeteria was like pigs in a trough. she also had people sending her food. she had a very specific diet. she very much wanted to be her own person. she had this servitude about her . certitude about her. all people sentenced under these laws -- there is another fun anecdote. one of the guards said "we will never forget you." >> her response was "you know something, i have forgotten you already." [laughter] >> that is how she left prison. she returned to queens. providedto a team that pre-advice to inmates. she was a seamstress so she was engaged in a little bit of that trade. she was always looking for ways to improve herself. she really left prison the same way she entered, the same way she act
