dominquez is being held without bond. the california reparations task force voted in oakland to approve recommendations for a final proposal to be delivered to state lawmakers this summer. the task force has studied and researched the negative impacts of slavery on its descendants for more than two years. the package includes restitution estimates for african americans living in california who have experienced housing discrimination, racial injustice, and more. african-americans with ancestors tied to slavery could receive cash payments. panelists say the time is now. >> i think it comes upon a time that we've got to be practitioners, we have to be social engineers, and make sure that we deliver something to this black population, or else we never will do it. liz: according to the report, an african-american resident over the age of 70 could receive payments up to $1.2 million. the final report will contain 95 recommendations for determining what reparations will look like in the future. state legislatures must pass all o
