don knapp is following this developing story for us. don? >> reporter: you're right, ann. they are on the move. we're at the plaza where this began about 1:30 today, when they marched out of here. right now, they are leaving again, with the announced intention of going back to the oakland kaiser convention center, the empty building over at 12th and jackson. they tried to get in there today. there was a standoff. they came back here. let's look at the video of the events that occurred later today when they tried to get back here, when there was taunting between demonstrators and police. police went after this one demonstrator here, took him down rather largely. he may have been injured. we understand there were a number of injuries to police officers as well. there were some flairs and rocks and bottles thrown at police. also, police fired back with tear gas or at least gas, and smoke. that appeared to be all resolved at some point today. it was letting up a little bit. we talked with sergeant jeff thomson of the oakland police department. >> it turned out to be a peaceful
