this is new zealander scott donaldson.ch by lights and fireworks. and after two months at sea he had to be helped out of his kayak by his family. back on dry land he mustered the energy to say a few words. i need a shower. and he stinks! it took scott donaldson exactly two months to kayak across the tasman from here in coffs harbour, to where he landed on new zealand's east coast at nah—mow—two beach. he crossed 3000 kilometres of the tasman sea. here are some of his images at sea. scott paddled 16 hours a day. he was confronted by aggressive sharks and tackled six metre waves. at times, he said, he felt like he was paddling backwards. this is scott's kayak. he had to eat, sleep and go to the toilet in it. it was a tight squeeze, it's not even a metre wide. 0ne national new zealand newspaper described the kayak as being held together "like duct tape." they were not really convinced, but luckily it did hold together. scott had to attach himself to the kayak with a seat belt when he slept, incase it capsized. this wasn't sco
