he's with us from los angeles, and donna brazil. donna, first to you. is justice. so i ask you, how much is the trayvon martin verdict weighing on people in the mall, do you think? >> this is the emmett teal case of this generation. trayvon martin was an innocent teenager walking home from a convenience store, and he was shot. we know the verdict, we respect the verdict, but the people here today are gathered to petition the government not just here in washington but the state governments across the country to eliminate these stand your ground laws. this is why justice issues, the racial justice system in this country, the criminal justice system, mandatory minimum, all of those themes run and echo throughout these speeches. we also just heard from a group of kids who were victims of gun violence in their own neighborhood, and they came here today to petition the government to basically put forward more gun safety laws. so this is a very comprehensive discussion about gun violence, about racial profiling, stop and frisk, and, of course, justice for tray

the coronation quote by donna brazile? >> i think donna is right, if it were today.k clearly there really is a lot of support for hillary clinton within the party right now to seek and get the nomination. i think two reasons. one, a lot of the people in the party who went with barack obama in 2008 did so kind of wanting to be with hillary clinton. but deciding to go with him and i think that they want to see her succeed. so that's what -- but as ed will tell you, being in the front-runner for three, four years like she's going to have to be, is just a very, very difficult thing to pull off. i think she's developed a political skills to do it. you think her team learned a lot of lessons from the defeat in 2008. but it still is a very tough thing to do. >> so interesting. when you look back at hillary clinton versus president, now president obama, and what a devastating campaign it really was for her. but in the end, she dusted herself off and became secretary of state. which in essence, allowed her to be detached in many ways from the administration and to kind of gai

let's bring in donna brazile and will cane.hagel, john kerry has talked about this and now we see vice president joe biden. the highest level of president obama's here laying the groundwork for a justification for a use of force in syria. i mean, that's how i read it, donna. >> well, look, they also must exhaust every other legal means to go to the u.n., nato, the arab league. there are clearly steps being taken now to consult with our allies and to ensure that our response is appropriate. but i simply cannot believe that we're going to have a partisan petty fight over what the response should be. what the president is doing is consulting with members of congress. he's consulting with our allies, and we cannot simply allow the syrian regime to use these chemical weapons, and who knows, to let them out to others who clearly hate america that might use them against us at some point. so i think the administration is doing the right thing and proceeding cautiously. >> will, i want to ask you about this. you brought up the poll numb

donna brazile, democratic strategist. nna, the president would have loved to have signed into law comprehensive immigration reform package. now it's the end of the summer. he's getting ready to leave tomorrow for a week or ten days in martha's vineyard. that hasn't happened. there's no indication it's going to happen any time soon. a pretty significant disappointment. >> look, the president has a lot on his plate, wolf. he's trying to re-enact the grand bargain with the republicans to come up with a very strong yobs program and do something about tax reform. on immigration reform, look, speaker boehner can control this situation. there are about 17 or 21 republicans who are eager to sign on to an immigration bill. what we need speaker boehner to do is to release those republicans. get away from the rule which requires him to only use republican votes. basically come up with a compromise for the democrats and we can have comprehensive immigration reform. >> you think that's going to happen? >> immigration reform is a very t
