. >>> maryland congresswoman donna edwards has hosted town halls in her district highlighting minimum wage issue and joins me from capitol hill. congresswoman, thank you very much for being with us. >> thank you. good to be with you. >> we've been talking how hard it is for getting success for getting minimum wage up to $10.10. inflation, lower than '68 when lyndon johnson was president. what can house democrats do given barriers you face on the hill? >> i think first of all we have to depend on people across the country. minimum wage workers who really need a raise, people who work in restaurants whose wages haven't been raised since 1991. $2.13 an hour. so i think it's going to take really an outside push in every single congressional district to help my colleagues, my republican colleagues understand that this is about how we grow our gdp. it's about how we grow our economy, and it's about closing that gap between those highest wage earners who earn so much over these last two decades and low wage earners who earn about 5% of their increases in salaries over the last decades. >> yo

>> joining me now is congresswoman, donna edwards of maryland.n studio with us here in the nation's capital. good to have you with us. boehner has taken out this ad, saying that the president has stalled the economy. and he can say what he wants. the numbers are what they are. 47 months of private-sector job growth, the market went over 16,000 today, record close. unemployment is going down. but now you have to trust him to do a deal on key issues that are polling very strong in this country, what the american people want. how are you going to get that done? >> i think the way we're going to get it done, the president is going to exercise the bully pulpit the way we need him to on minimum wage. on income inequality. on extending unemployment insurance, which we did not do when we left town, and the senate is closed too. and so i think the president has to really dig down in that bully pulpit, use it, talk to the american people, to force republicans toim could to the table on these issues. >> so you think that the president could play a major rol

donna edwards and eddie bernice johnson have chosen the apollo wlanding site as the grounds for thishich would contain relics from the appallo landing. a newspaper article reads in part, this is why our country is going in the toilet. our taxpayers cannot make ends meet with all of the waste in washington. if you recall while running for president in 2012, newtown gingrich said if he was elected he would establish a moon colony by 2020. we reached out to him and have not heard back. and a woman whose preferred mode of transportation costing, 51-year-old audrey ferguson repeatedly called for an ambulance to get a ride downtown. she called 911 100 times in the last seven years to get a ride to the hospital but she often told nurses she felt fine and left. ferguson told police she does not have a car and medicaid covers her ambulance ride at $425 each. the bill for what medicaid does not cover goes straight to the taxpayers and ferguson's bill is more than $400,000. >>> another sign we leave in a regulation nation. experts say the federal regulatory plans that have been publicly release

donna edwards, incredible representative from the state of maryland. you wanted to talk to us about your citizens and constituents. ms. edwards: i thank the gentleman from california because every week you are here talking about what we can do and what we should be doing to create jobs in this country. i have heard it said by some that there's nothing that the federal government, that the congress can or should do to try to create jobs. well that's just a bunch of hooey. the federal government has a lot of capacity to help spur private-sector job creation, but we haven't done it in this congress. we have had the opportunity, but we haven't done it in this congress. and i thought as you put that quote up there by franklin roosevelt, when i think of all the memorials there are here in washington, d.c. and there are plenty of them, free to the public paid by the taxpayers, one of my favorites is the f.d.r. memorial, and the reason is because as you're walking through that memorial, you have there in bronze people standing in line, standing in line waiting

we're joined by bill kristol, donna brazile and matthew dowd, steve rattner and greta va van susteren. welcome. both senators agree there should be no amnesty for edward. in some sense, has he been vindicated? >> no. no illegality under the supreme court precedence. no abuse. no criminality. no -- i'm a defender of the nsa program. and i think everyone is being very glib, it there's no evidence, you think about the program for a minute, and say, how would it be abused? 22 intelligence officers, military, et cetera, is going to get together in a room, let's look at donna brazile's phone records. it's the collect of metadata. you need to go to a judge to get a warrant to see who donna is talking to, and so, i think a lot of this is people, we need to be serious about the national security side of this and the constitutional side of it as well. lot of glib talk about the abuse of privacy. >> you're shaking your head, greta. >> i am. bill, you're dead wrong. it will be proven to be a wrong decision. >> this is 1979 supreme court decision that did say the police in this case could collect the phone records of one individual? >> that's right. the supreme co
