donna edwards is still here. doctor, your reaction to what happens next for women in texas. >> it's tragic and unconstitutional but has been brewing for years. every single turn has been done to deny and strip not just women of their rights but now there's a bounty on the heads of any clinician, any physician or any person who tries to help. i have colleagues who have said thank goodness we left that state and there's a part of me that thinks we need to go back and fight. that will mean probably ending up in jail and that's exactly what we're looking at. i can't believe this is what's happening. >> it has taken this medieval turn. the ability to choose if, when and how to give birth is linked to women's economics. the states had more restrictions than any other five-year period since roe v. wade 1973. the connection is no coincidence. talk about how these restrictions are dangerous for women's and infants' health. >> no woman, as we've been discussing, undergoes any of this. it just doesn't exist and so any woman

mike schmidt whose byline is on that reporting we read from, and donna edwards, msnbc contributor, isus how this was for him. was he obsessed with getting something on the books that would withstand scrutiny? did it become personal? what are his views of the court and does he feel like he prevailed finally? >> i think it is a combination of several different things. i think that this is someone who spent his time as the texas state solicitor general from in the early 2010s for about four years. in that position he was able to see how texas laws were being gutted by the courts, and he learned through that, came up with different ways that he thought he could create a bill that would withstand a judicial review and that would flummox the courts. he tried this in 2014, failing as you were pointing out when breyer smacks it down in 2016. but when he gets another chance at it in 2021, he has a new device, a new device to put into the law which he had used throughout texas to help ban abortion in several cities in texas throughout 2020 and 2021. he had been galvanized by that, encouraged by

congresswoman and msnbc contributor donna edwards here here. michael steele joins us, a republican strategist who works for dominion, is not joining us in that official capacity today. michael steele, what can you tell us about where this lawsuit is? if you can't speak to the specifics of what the "times" is reporting and the internal documents that have been produced, where does this lawsuit stand? >> well, this lawsuit was brought by a former dominion employee eric kumar, and that is a separate effort from my work for dominion voting systems. i think it reminds us, though, that these facts were not just notably false, these claims that the president's supporters were making were not knowingly false, they were easily knowingly false. it seemed to involve a simple google search. it was easy and obvious what they were trying to portray as reality is simply not true. >> harry, i want to come to you and i want to really understand what this former dominion employee is trying to prove and how these internal documents help this case. >> he's trying
