. >> reporter: yes, i'm here on camden avenue near donna lane, and you can see there's a lot of shattered glass and debris behind me. this is what was left of an accident that happened that caused a lot of damage here. a pickup truck that you see over there has gone right and hit this building right over here. i can't tell if there's actually a hole there, but we're told by police that it didn't actually enter the building, but it did shake up the people who were sleeping inside. we were told by police officers that the driver of that car apparently admitted to falling asleep at the wheel. he was coming down camden here in the northbound lanes, and he hit three parked cars that were -- two were on camden, another one was on donna lane. so right now those owners of those cars, you know, again they had a rude awakening and woke up to finding all sorts of damage on their car. the driver we're told is not being arrested. we're not sure what's happening with him, but here's what one of the -- one of the owners of the damaged cars had to tell us. >> he looked a little tired. he said he'd fallen

hopped up onto the grass on donna lane. you can see the tire marks in the grass.the fire hydrant is not there. it came to a rest against the apartment building right there. now the man who owns the volvo says he actually moved his car to this side of camden. that man said he had actually been hit. his vehicle had been hit twice on the other side of camden. he moved it to this side of camden and be now it got hit again. now a gas meter was hit and there was a leak, but firefighters were able to cap it off. i see pg and e back there working on the gas meters to make sure everything is okay. obviously the impact into the building woke up the residents. they're allowed to go back inside. many are shaken up. some people are dealing with their cars being damaged. firefighters say the impact actually created some cracks throughout the building, kind of like what happens during an earthquake. i did talk to an officer and he said it does not appear that the driver had been drinking but there's still no word on whether or not he will be cited for the accident. matt keller,
