here's a look at hi-def doppler this morning.ou can see right now the rain is still well to our north. we are seeing a couple of scattered showers possible over the northern portion of the state. most at our viewing area though will stay dry today. it's not until tomorrow that we see the rain associated with this system really make its way through the bay area. and we will see a good amount of rain on saturday in terms of off-and-on showers kind of a very soggy day. rain totals not very impressive but consistently going to see the rain sticking around. so let's time it out. we are starting off friday 5 a.m., increasing clouds. so south bay still seeing clear skies. we will see those clouds increase throughout the day today. shower chances for the most part stay north of most of our viewing area. watch what happens overnight though. rain moves through overnight here we are at 8 a.m. saturday morning and we are looking at scattered showers. we are not talking widespread heavy rain but certainly scattered showers throughout the day.

i'll tell you ultimate doppler showing some showers. few thunder showers but they are few and far between. this is all associated with a cold front. but not a lot of cold air behind it. we'll take a zoom in and one cell in particular in chester is moving toward the southeast so heavy rain associated with this will go over the river and heading toward 295 in gibbstown and also paulsboro if you live in that area you may hear a quick rumble of thunder then it will be moving out just as fast it move in. take look life the platt bridge looking good traffic moving along skies are clearing. temperatures still comfortable in the 60s. winds out of the west southwest at 9 miles an hour. and those temperatures will continue to cool down as cool high pressure system builds in from the north and west. so temperatures already in the 50s, well to the north. and some 40s in southeastern canada. and that will be in our future over the next 24 to 48 hours. this the surface scenario. high pressure builds off the coast we allow this front to move through.

first off, we have light rain according our live hi-def doppler radar. we are zeroing in right there on the north bay. santa rosa, you have some light raindrops on the rooftops also look at the band of showers anywhere from napa into heading towards the vacaville area. i wanted to zero in on that right there focusing in on the saint helena area. that's moderate rainfall at this particular time. and then we have this very light rain shower that's now beginning to move in towards mill valley. so the bottom line is, don't be too surprised especially if you are in the north bay if there is rain this morning. now, meanwhile, the other side of the coin happens to be the very chilly temperatures. we are in the mid-30s in throughout pleasanton, dublin, san ramon, livermore. otherwise, it's 40 degrees in fairfield. it's 40 in napa. temperatures will continue to fall by sun-up we could even some areas of frost developing. later today, mostly cloudy skies. any kind of rain is pretty much confined to the far north and maybe skimming out towards the delta. it will be
