live doppler 7 not showing encouraging news at the moment. the pops of yellow and orange and the red is just intense heavy rainfall. and the loop over the past 30 minutes, that rainfall coming off the gulf and pushing into houston. you see these lines of showers extending well off into the gulf of mexico. those are fielder bands. essentially they're fueling more mariucci and pushing it flow houston. the latest track on harvey, it's slow moving and stays a tropical storm through at least wednesday morning before pushing off to the north towards tennessee by thursday evening into friday night. additional rainfall with harvey. still looking at several inches. the bull's eye of the heaviest rain is going to be pushing away from houston in the coming days. live doppler 7 along with satellite, part of the reason harvey is so slow to move our heat wave. it's a strong musclemaker. it's not moving anytime soon. that brought the heat today that pushed the jet stream well north. that can't pull harvey away till that heat weakens. it will do so by thursd

. >> let's take a look at live doppler 7. and from the satellite perspective, now a category 2 hurricane. it just intensified. we're actually seeing the eye of the hurricane with this storm and as you take a look here, this is really just a sign that the intensification is taking place. rainfall bands will move onshore. the spaghetti tracks or forecast models have this hurricane slamming into texas with the exception of one model which veers it out toward louisiana. as you take a look at the wave heights near the center of the storm, 26-foot wave heights. storm surge is going to be a major issue. cat 2 with maximum sustained winds of 105 miles an hour. expected to strengthen tomorrow evening as a category 3. a major hurricane at landfall and then weakening. but the problem with this hurricane it's not in a hurry to get out of there. days of rainfall. that's going to cause destructive flooding. up to 35 inches in isolated areas. 15 to 25 inches of rain from many parts of texas. >> thank you. >>> let's continue our team coverag

a major hurricane as we look at our live doppler 7 right now. bands of heavy rain continuing to move on-shore. they are seeing not only downpours but some strong winds. look at the eye on this hurricane. this is just incredible as you take a look here. it made landfall at 7:00 our tomorrow. and it made a second landfall. gust of 110 miles per hour reported there. tornado warnings are up right now as the hurricane interacts with land causing friction, upping the rick for tornado. look at the rainfall totals, 3.8 to 7 inches in corpus christi, tech. there is more rain just off the coast. about nine inches based on radar stilts. that's coming on-shore. category 3 maximum sustained winds of 120. expected to weakan to a cat 20 tomorrow morning and then a one as we move into sunday morning. it is going to be a slow moving soaker. for days they are expecting rain. catastrophic flooding through wednesday. 15 to 30 inches of rain in most of the areas that will get the brunt this storm. going to be a major problem about storm surge, the strong winds, and
