chief meteorologist doug hill has the forecast. this thing grew up pretty good. doug: it did. it took its sweet time but reached the hurricane threshold at 75-mile-per-hour winds. there is no meteorological reason it won't get stronger before it makes landfall later tonight. we are expecting hurricane center at 5:00 which will be an upgrade to the track, intensity and where it's headed in the next several days and that will determine how it will affect our area. here is what we are looking at, at the satellite images here around the area with the radar showing a spiraling effect now. yellow and the reds of the persistent bands that continue to swing around on the west coast of florida. as it moves to the northeast at 14 miles per hour, it will take the rain bands. the heavy rain. it will move them north and east. top wind 75 moving north/northeast at 15. position wise by 8:00 tomorrow night it will no longer be a hurricane. it will be a tropical storm with 50-mile-per-hour winds in the vicinity of charleston, south carolina. it will move to the outer bank and out to sea. but a
