. ♪ >> let's continue our discussion with doug holtz-eakin andmaya mcginnis.'s discuss tax reform. back in february, dave camp put out a plan that reduced tax rates and cut deductions, exclusions and credits. but even speaker boehner wasn't impressed. was it at least a good start in point? >> absolutely. it was a terrific starting point. when clinical folks respond badly on both sides, it is because something is real. tax reform is in desperate need of a major overhaul. he got into the specifics. the way we will get into tax reform is to broaden the tax base $1.23 billion a year. changereform, repeal, those, and he's had come up with a lot of money that can be used to bring rate is down, both on the corporate and the individual side that helps to grow the economy. and should be used to help reduce the deficit and bring the debt down. chairman camp was willing to talk about those tax rates, which is a third rail for many people. it is an absolutely great starting point and we need people in the country to continue working on tax reform. what we have now is not
