chief meteorologist doug kammerer live with your first forecast. >> we are watching two separate storms. there is not a lot of storminess out there. one storm to the metro region. one trough maryland and this is the other storm here right around leesburg hitting loudoun county. that storm around hagerstown will drift to northern portions of frederick county. this storm towards leesburg along route 7 moving along 20 miles per hour. it will be around reston at around 4:27. right inside the d.c. metro area around 5:00, 5:30. it could effect the nationals game. we are looking at this area of showers and thunderstorms and lightning associated with this, too. not severe now but strong with winds gusting upwards of 30 to 40 miles per hour. look at the rain towards west virginia. we will talk about that and other rain chances as we move into the weekend. we got weekend plans you don't want to miss the forecast. >>> d.c.'s new fire chief is crying foul all having to do with the consequences of several firefighters accused of neglecting their duty when they refused to come to the aid of an elderl

let's go back to doug kammerer. i was told to bring an umbrella. it is beautiful outhere. >> it is beautiful out there. i always tell you carry that small umbrella as we continue to move on. beautiful night shaping up. the rain has held off. that is the good news. we talked about this earlier this afternoon that most would be down to the south. i have lowered our forecast for rain down to 10%. 80 degrees at kickoff time at 8:00 tonight. warm and humid. a very nice night for a game. temperatures at 82 degrees and seeing a lot more sunshine. showers to the south later this evening. let me show you what i mean about showers to our south. temperatures are still in the upper 70s to low 80s. 80 degrees towards dulles. here is the south down towards fredericksburg and st. mary's county. i think the southern portions of maryland will see a chance for showers to continue to move through. notice nothing in the metro area and the panhandle of west virginia, maryland, all looking good this evening. if you are thinking about getting out there and not going to e

. >> chief meteorologist doug kammerer is here to pin point when we will see what in the form of rain rolling in. >> we have a chance for showers as we make our way through the overnight hours tonight and during the day tomorrow and maybe later this week, too. we are not talking a lot of rain. storm team 4 radar back towards west virginia and fredericksburg. a lot of this just very, very light if it is reaching the ground at all. the wider picture does show what we are talking about, a pretty big storm system moved towards the south. a line of strong to severe thunderstorms came through down the richmond area. thisual continue to move off towards the east. looking at this little line here you can see it right there. we may see a shower come through. the redskins game looking good. for the browns 80 degrees. nice and warm and a little on the humid side. rain chance 30% but can probably take that down a little more. right now it is looking pretty good. >>> as doug mentioned it is game night, a big one tonight. we will see a lot of different stuff on the field. our team coverage continue

. >> chief meteorologist doug kammerer is on top of it all for us in the storm center. >> looking pretty good. we told you the best chance of rain would be south and west of the d.c. metro area. that is exactly where we have the rain right now. first off the high temperatures so far, it sure did feel warmer than this. 85 in d.c. 82 manassas. look towards fredericksburg and back towards the west into portions of west virginia thunderstorm activity back towards you folks around the petersburg region. we will watch this area making its way towards the east and this area towards the west. i would not be surprised to see showers and thunderstorms develop once these areas collide. we will be talking much more about that. i will break that down for you and as we look towards the rest of the evening hours what you can expect maybe taking a jog. 83 around 7:00. watch out for isolated showers around 9:00 when we have the best chance for showers around the d.c. metro area. i will get back to you with a better chance of rain coming up in just a few minutes. ♪ >> the godfather of go-go's music lives
