one thing doug mcmillon told investors this morning was that on walmart.com, while food is strong, they do a better job in general merchandise. categories like home and apparel, where the profit margins are fatter, that needs to be a place where they continued to pick up share with consumers. the hope is that grocery drives frequency. it's the thing that brings footfall into your stores and makes you loyal to walmart and get you coming back again and again. joe: is there a halo with groceries, such that, if i'm inclined to shop with walmart grocery, i will buy other stuff, or has that it be proven? >> i think that's what they are counting on. that's why they are changing their grocery offerings so that their program used to be that they could just buy groceries, now they are adding more merchandise to the offer on the theory that you will come in for the food, and then they will hook you to buy more stuff over time. caroline: where is amazon in all of this in terms of the competitive nature? they made a purchase of whole foods. you may clear in your story that they have a mixed message
