today, carlton hipps and ramon williams faced the judge and grieving family of sergeant robert wilson. doug shimell was in the courtroom today as well. doug? >> reporter: officer wilson's family was bracing themselves for what they thought they would hear and see in court today. a replay of that graphic shootout video from inside the game stop store. police officers shoulder to shoulder in the courtroom, the blue line going from one side to the other. defendants ramon williams and carlton hipps found themselves surrounded again, facing murder charges for the shooting death of officer robert wilson. his family, escorted into court through a secure garage entrance. defense lawyers waived the preliminary hearing as it began. >> want to spare the family any more remembrance of this tragedy, because it is a tragedy. >> reporter: what they didn't want shown was the march 5th shootout caught on camera inside the game stop in north philadelphia as ramon williams and carlton hipps allegedly robbed the store at gunpoint. >> police officer wilson stands to exchange gunfire with these two individuals.
