as we head downtown we picked up 4.5 inches around there. this storm behaved just like vytis reed said it would behave. 3.75 to almost 4.5 and an inch. 3 inches in jarrettsville, also toward the north and east a little bit lesser amounts there. 2.5 or so inches toward northeast in port deposit, and about 2 to 3 inches there. right now looking a whole lot better as you saw. temperature wise we have the temperatures near the freezing mark, 32 for baltimore, the same for d.c. we saw the changeover shortly, just a short time ago. 30 degrees in hagueer hagerstowd 30 degrees in oakland. here is what we're watching with the frontal air behind it. the high pressure dries out the skies but here is what is coming your way. the low pressure center that will be coming up the eastern seaboard and the question is will it take a turn east and head out to sea or will it come up the coast? i if i think the first scenario moving out to the west is less favorable than the computer models coming up the coast. when that happens, you know that you get all of the

only average downtown 18 inches for the entire season. it will wind down on saturday, two to four inches in the morning. probably one to two in the afternoon. but again near blizzard conditions tonight. and that is something we are really trying to hammer home. look at the satellite picture radar combined. look at this moisture. when you get storms out of the gulf of mexico and go to the atlantic ocean it pretty much has an unlimbed amount of moisture and almost winter hurricanes quite frankly. so this has got, in terms of moisture, we talked about this last night, no pun intended the sky is the limit in terms of moisture. the cold air is a little lacking. we will watch this transition right here, here in southern maryland. as we go through the next several hours. it will be very close. could get as far as i-95. we will keep you posted on that. keep us posted. go to wusa9.com and fill out a storm report. and we need snowfall amounts, road conditions and e-mail us pictures. that's the latest for you. see you in a couple of minutes. back to

start off downtown baltimore. yes, clouds, fog, and still snow showers to the north. but the skies are trying to brighten downtown where we have an average of about 5 inch of snow. there's still fog up. and looking, you can't see it. 31 in the fog. and yes, i had a recent snow showers pass just to the north. the skies are much brighter and dealing with slick spots. and after the hit over the weekend and the hit on the way for next weekend, yeah, right in the mid l of it at 31 degrees. switch it over and show you maryland's most power doppler radar. and four other sweeps with the band of snow off toward the north, got into pennsylvania. we were following this little band just north. looks like up towards delta heading toward darlington with light snow. but only maybe another 10 or 125 minutes. more substantial snow back into the mountains. but that's more of a lake- effect. not going of the an impact on us. and we've got about two days of drying before the big storm that is gathering strength across southwest texas. there's a tremendous amount of energy in the atmosphe

dry conditions right now downtown, not looking bad at all.s into motion and not looking so bad over the last several hours. there was plenty of activity earlier in the day. this morning we had plenty moving through. you see the last remnants of it moving toward the east. there's know showers in the highest elevations to the west. the highest snow fall total we have seen in any one location that i found was in salisbury to the west of it at 6.25 itches. in the surrounding areas, 3.5 inches. and an inch to an 1.50-inch. and downtown 4 1/2 inch to the 5-inch, and down toward d.c. more 5-inch totals there. but 4 1/2 to 5 inches in general around laurel, too. toward thurmond and taneytown 3.25 inches. and further points east lesser amounts 2 1/2 to 3 inches there. a variety of snow fall totals, but generally the 3-5-inch range we can say. the temperatures not helpful in that the temperatures are dropped below freezing in some spots. in baltimore 31 degrees as megan was saying causing it to freeze over in some spots. be careful about that. up in ha

downtown baltimore, already snow covered downtown baltimore. now getting another dosage of snow coming down across the region. looking at 28 degrees. winds out of the east-northeast at nine. and that's not too bad of a factor right now. that will play a big role in the storm tomorrow. the winds are going to really be brutal out there. as they pick up out of the west-northwest. and they will be gusting pretty strong. looking at humidity levels at 93 percent. now, here is the big deal here. talking about snowfall records. snowfall season from 995 to 1996, 62.5 inches of snow. that was the most on record. for 2009, to this year, already currently 60.4 inches not including the current storm pushing through the area right now. so we will definitely add to this total. and we have the rest of the winter season to get through continuing down the road. looking at national watches and warnings. across the midwest and mid-atlantic. looking at the warnings. current storms right now. we have this one, two, punch coming our way. giving us heavy snowfall. but
