we just moved to this spot in downtown novato. you can see from my boots here we're standing in about 5 inches of water. and this is the sidewalk. alongside me here is the roadway. crews have put up signs warning motorists that the road is flooded. but some cars still have been traveling through this roadway. obviously, pretty dangerous depending on how low your car is. that's a hardware store behind me. this is expected to continue over the next several hours. we are going to see a lot more flooding where this came from. not only in downtown but another isolated spot. i did speak to one of the people who commuted this morning. she came here to novato from american canyon, she says is normally takes her 30 minutes and today took her 45. >> a lot of water on the side so you need to be very careful with it, while you're driving. and everybody was running slow. so i'm glad for it. >> reporter: it does seem like there are fewer people on the road because all the schools are closed. it's just the sort of pop-up spots that we're going t

the exploratorium camera, clear dongs partly cloudy sky right here downtown. 36 napa, 37 novato, and mid-to upper 30s fairfield and concord. it is certainly cold. we will hold these temperatures pretty much in place for tomorrow morning. and then by tuesday things will really get interesting. so between today, this morning and yesterday morning here are the changes. with some cooling at the airport and coast but otherwise everyone else is pretty much warmer from san carlos to mountain view and concord with the warmer conditions warmer than yesterday newspaper santa rosa. santa rosa novato and napa were in the 20s yesterday. so our exploratorium camera shows a nice start to the day, despite the hazy conditions on tap for the north bay. we are looking at kind of an easy afternoon. especially north of the golden gate. no woodburning throughout the day today. sutro tower camera, we are on tap for a sunny sunday with temperatures seasonal throughout the day and tomorrow and a cold conclude to 2014. twos is the day where we will see falling temperatures and very strong cold front head out
