. >> 55 downtown, 60 oakland. the sun coming up at 7:20. >> good morning, everyone. thank you for joining us. i'm carolyn tyler. oakland police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead last night. school district police made a traffic stop just after 9:00 near the intersection of joaquin miller road and butters drive. they were patrolling that area because there was a dance nearby. a school district official tells abc 7 the driver tried to stab the police officer with some kind of tool. investigators say when the suspect reached force a weapon, a second officer fired into the car killing the driver. oakland police later recovered a gun they say belongs to the man. a female passenger was injured, taken to a local hospital. the officer was protected by his vest and suffered only minor injuries. a woman is in critical condition this morning after being shot by a daly city police officer in san francisco. investigators say the woman was shot after she backed her car toward the officer. it happened near the cow palace around 7:00 last night. off

northbound and southbound traffic looks good all the way into downtown oakland. >>> and this morning's commute on southbound 101 between burling game, san mateo and redwood city looks good on the peninsula. fog is not an issue in most areas. but there is some dense central valley fog. people in tracy, benicia, those areas. speaking of the weather, let's go to steve. >>> sal, we are talking about some cold weather out there. it's that damp kind of cold. more of the midwest new england feel. but it's not that cold, but it's more not the dry cold we're usually used to. it's a little edge to it this morning. as far as any rain goes there's none in sight. everything's going up and over. little bit of fog out in the valley is very, very tough to burn off sometimes. but we have some temperatures in the 30s and some of these will stay here for a while. 33 livermore. 32 fairfield. out to vacaville, antioch and brentwood all in the 30s. get the fog in there it's tough to burn off. some low 40s redwood city and mountain view. they always run about five or seven degrees warmer than closer to town
