san francisco hotel. sonja shin is outside the marriott in downtown san francisco where a number of flight attendants got sick. good morning, sonja. >> reporter: good morning. paramedics and firefighters were dispatched to this marriott in downtown san francisco at about 12:15 a.m. after 8 flight attendants got sick. the flight attendants all flew in on the same singapore airlines plane last night according to our radio partner kcbs. firefighters and paramedics were told to wear protective gear like masks and gloves in case the illness was containing just but all the victims were treated for what authorities believe now was actually carbon monoxide poisoning. the flight attendants are now being treated at san francisco general hospital. carbon dioxide is an odorless colorless gas that can cause sudden illness or disand carbon dioxide -- excuse me, carbon monoxide poisoning can cause flu-like symptoms including headaches, confusion, dizziness and nausea. we don't know if the flight attendants got sick at their hotel or on the flight that they were on last night but we do know that no one else was evacuated
