the name of the man that police say is responsible for stealing a car off a dealership lot in downtown san jose and it was caught on tape. it is a story you will only see here. police arrested the man yesterday on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony hit and run, and battery on an officer. this video clearly shows him getting into a car in a dealership and driving it straight off the lot. the dealership left the car running to charge the batteries. minutes later police say the thief was speeding through the streets, blowing through red lights and crashing into another car. the driver of that car is in the hospital. he stopped the stolen car a block from the accident and tried to run away but was chased down by a police dog and chp officers. >>> a redwood city preschoolteacher is behind bars accused of physically abusing two four-year-old students. police arrested the 44-year-old woman this morning. monte frances has more for us. san jose's rising pension costs. len ramirez explains. >>> reporter: the timing on this couldn't be more critical. as you said, mayor reed will deliver the state of the city address tonight here in downtown san jose. just as that happens, he is being hit with these serious allegations. a union attorney said today that mayor reed could be criminally liable for grossly exaggerating the projected costs of retirement costs to the city of san jose by the year 2015. he said that this was all done for political ploy to sell voters on the idea for the need of pension reform. >> i want saying that mayor reed lied, misled and deceived the public and the members of the san jose city council concerning the true fiscal condition of the pension plans in san jose. >> reporter: it all stems from an off-the-cuff remark by san jose's pension director that costs could increase to $650 million by the year 2015. that pension director later said that that figure would be closer to $430 million. it ended up being only $295 million by november. but the unions say that reed continued to use the higher number to trick people into supporting pension reform. reed says there was no dishonesty and this is all part of
