71-year-old robert ridge walked into his house at 5:30 this morning after hitch hicking from downtown san rafael. 21 members of the search and rescue team and k-9 unit looked for rich. he disappeared shopping with his wife. she went into the mall, and he drove off, leaving a message he was at city hall. the couple's suv was found later with the keys in it. rich was nowhere to be found. we don't know who helped rich get home, but he appears to be okay. >>> the public is getting a look at video showing a deadly shooting involving san francisco police officers at a subway sandwich shop. police showed the video yesterday for the first time in a town hall meeting. they say nicholas walked behind te counter and stabbed an employee last week. san francisco officer kenneth cha shot and killed the man. he's the same officer who shot and wounded a man in january. he's on paid leave which is standard in these cases. police say he attacked the subway employee after the employee refeesed to give him free food. to view the full video, look for theling on our website at abc7news.com. >>> police get attention w

the searchers are focused on the downtown san rafael area because the last time anyone heard from the missing elderly man was when he made a phone call to his wife last night from san rafael city hall. this morning the silver alert was issued for the 71-year-old robert rich jr. who suffers from dementia. the search team has brought in search dogs to try to track he is sent. -- scent, and he was last seen last night at the mall and he drove off in his white suv while the wife was inside shopping. she came back and he was gone, she called 911. last night they found his suv in san rafael but he was nowhere to be found. the police have explained why the search is focused on this area around city hall.>> we received information that he made a phone call around 7:00 p.m. from the san rafael city hall. he spoke with an individual that had let him borrow his phone. he called his wife to let her know he was in this area, so the search is taking place with this city hall the central area. >> reporter: rich and his wife live in bolinas. law enforcement across the county on the lookout for him an
