it is going to be extremely tough getting around downtown washington today.ama's nuclear security summit begins at the washington convention center this morning and more than 40 world leaders are attending. because of that the entire surrounding area has been sealed off. news 4's megan mcgrath joins us now from northwest washington with the details on the day's events. megan? >> reporter: good morning, aaron. sealed off is right. sealed off with large sections ever fencing, some of which are eight feet tall. this is one of the security perimeter checkpoints here at 6th and new york street. they are starting to move some of the emergency responder equipment into place in preparation for today's summit. and we're starting to see an uptick in the traffic in the area. we're not at full on rush hour but starting to see more people come through the area. i have seen a number of people doing illegal u-turns on new york avenue. they come up upon the area, realize they can't get any further so they pull an illegal u-turn in the middle of the road. not a great safe sit
