jessica doyle is watching your money. >> apparently the news isn't so good when it comes to foreclosures. >> and it could be getting a whole lot worse. more and more banks are placing hopes with unpaid mortgages on a countdown. time runs out and the nation could be looking at a new swell of foreclosed properties being dumped on to the market. the time is early next year and the results would likely weigh down everyone's home values yet again. june showed the latest evidence of this trend. realty track says the number of u.s. homes entering the foreclosure process was up for the second month in a row. nearly 13 million home loans are under water with the homeowners owning more than the house is worth and the properties could be at a higher risk of entering the foreclosure process. >>> american airlines is looking for a mate. the carrier is weighing possible merger partners but analysts say the nation's number three airline only has one viable choice and that would be number five u.s. airways. stay tuned on this one. >>> it often feels like there's a starbucks on every corner, right? now o

. >> and jessica doyle is here. >> i wish i had all the answers and we're hoping the federal reserve has all the answers because there's a big meeting this week. maybe you've heard about it and there are big expectations for what's going to come out of that but a we're going to have to wait until tomorrow to see if there are any disappointments. wall street expects the fed to announce new steps to jump- start when the economy is going to pick up. at its two day meeting when that wraps up tomorrow afternoon. experts are saying no action from central bankers, that will be a huge disappointment for investors. fed chief ben bernanke indicated to congress this month that the central bank is very focused on weakness in the job market. the nation's unemployment rate has been stuck above 8% for 41 consecutive months. investors are waiting on the sidelines and hoping the european central bank will announce new steps to boost economic conditions there. checking the numbers from wall street -- >>> the u.s. postal service is quickly running out of cash. the agency is bracing for a historic defau
