i do not know who inputs dph, i do not know that they have direct access. the second phase of the process -- project is to move forward and start looking at the other things that the other departments want to do. dpw may want, and they have expressed the enthusiasm to look at all sorts of processes to see how they fit in to and they can use the features of the permit tracking system. using the system for business taxes. the board of appeals wants to use the system. initially, we need to look at what we are currently doing well and who is currently using it. and then we have every intention, having expressed in this to the board of supervisors and the mayor's office, working with other departments to get them to maximize their use of the features that they are not using right now. >> it would help, i think, because the board and the mayor's office have prioritized helping small businesses. the department of health is involved. it makes sense to be able to coordinate all of this to give better service to the end user. i also understand that it is a later step

they say that dph will regulate that. you cannot keep approving permits in the hopes that some other -- what kind of enforcement is that? does that require the appellant to go to every agency and say to them, they do not have these permits. they cannot park there. how is that going to be working? that should not have to happen. there are others who will speak about the economic impacts about these things. in one of the points i want to make is that we are not against food trucks. these businesses can locate and have submitted permits for other locations in san francisco. that is fine. the financial district does not need new vitality of food trucks down there. my office is in the financial district. i am walking down the streets and we do not need additional activity there. i want to point out -- i am here opposing beals street and california street, those two locations. beale street, besides the violations that exist, just a pragmatic look at the existing conditions, you will see reported four construction activities on

with dph, the nursing supervisors get a 7% differential instead of having 24-hour responsibility for their units. these are clinical units. a lot of nurse managers and nursing supervisors are assigned to this, more than we thought was necessary. at san francisco general, the nurse receiving 7% pay, the supervisor was receiving it, there was a pyramid on the way down that was cascading -- we thought it was more than necessary. the other concern, people were receiving the 7% differential for managing outpatient unit and things that are not 24-hour operations. it was an alternative that would be getting the extended-hour pay instead, but everybody was getting the higher pay. it is an extensive form of pay.a acting assignments, pretty straightforward. if they need to fill it, they will pay the 5% differential. we did not see many issues here other than when there were long- term assignments. employees could be under- compensated and the salaries of the position they were filling could be much higher than they were actually being paid for. the city was getting salary savings but the worke

the dpw and dph has admitted they do not have the power to regulate the food trucks ordinance. they do not have the manpower for it. everybody is cutting jobs in this economic time. bless the dpw for taking on this horrendous issue. no one else has stated that the old ordinance covered by the police department -- the permits were $10,000 per year. under the new ordinance, and they are $500 per year. a big difference. maybe that is why there were no food trucks operating prior to this amended ordinance. there are grandfathered food truck set a $500 -- rather, $10,000 under the police department. the new ones, it is pretty cheap. the dpw nor jeremy paul addressed the fact that the truck would be part of the wrong way. he also said that chipotle is opening another restaurant. they are owned by mcdonald's. deep pockets. these are not mom and pop restaurant. there are owned by mcdonald's and can afford the competition. he also mentioned that there are food trucks at city hall. city hall is not the financial district. when you open a restaurant, whether it is a restaurant or a office
