one of the things that we have been talking with the dph is doing an assessment, a snapshot of everyone who stays in the shelter. i know that has come up about getting a health and that -- health assessment, about getting a better understanding of that population as well. with our shelters and those services, it is important to get a picture of the types of services that we actually need. we are happy to work on seeing if there is a way to expand some of that public health assessment that we can do. i am interested in the idea about pet ownership in the buildings. rebecca is the director of animal welfare and control. her favorite story was that there were able to adopt a pet from the animal shelter and it is the first time that he started leaving his sro regularly, to walk his pet. and allow him to integrate into the neighborhood. that is an important idea as well and we can also build resources there. i will mention a couple of other things. we are working on some senior floors. it is not just for seniors, but it impacts some older women living in the sro buildings. i said how physica

this is targeted to dph employees. we have a very diverse workforce. the certificate program to be, peer coaches. some of our doctors are learning it as we are moving into technology. we're looking at a development of working with young people who are much more tech savvy to come into the department to support our professionals to help them come to a skill level in our technology area. we will be looking at working with economic work development and trying to support them. we have an extensive language access program, as you can imagine. in san francisco general hospital, we have on-site interpreters with the capabilities of 10 languages. we have the ability to support over 100 languages to our language service. language requirements for staff and primary care clinics, we have dedicated chinese, spanish- speaking neighborhoods for we also had interpreters. at san francisco general hospital, we are providing services to approximately 140,000 people. this was the number request. we are looking at the technology. it will provide video interpretation too m

we will work with other agencies such as dph. we already work with these agencies. some of these cases you may know about are those like to our car wash -- tower car wash, where we went after them for there longstanding business practices that denied a full and fair wage to there employees -- their employees. i anticipate that by dedicating one attorney and one legal assistant to coordinate this effort will result in better communication, better use of city resources, and my hope is this small investment will have brought in additional penalties that will fund and expand the program, similar to what we have done with our existing resources in our code enforcement efforts through the last five fiscal years. i just come back to saying this, supervisors. we find what we do. i continue to be willing to do it. i think there is nothing but false savings if you cut those positions. that money is not going anywhere else. i can guarantee it will lead to accountability, because if i am wrong, which i don't think i am, i too will have the opportunity to judge me by the results
