item 1 is prioritizing women's health at dph. march is women history month and opportunity to highlight the contributions of women to events in history and society. there is a vast amount of work to protect the health and wellness of women and girls including trans women and non binary people in the hospital and clinics and programs throughout the city and i'll note as examples we have 13 bullets and will not read them, but really bullets that exlempify the depth and breath of the work we do and great to be able to highlight that work during women's history month. item 2 is highlighting world tv day. 2023 events. world tv day is on march 24, and there are a number of events that we held, including and attended. including the tb clinic that will be featured in a world symposium hosted by ucsf tb centers. hosted by community living room, a collaboration of san francisco community health center tenderloin and city hope to provide education about tb prevention and city resources, and san francisco city hall will be illuminated in red

over the past two years, dph has opened 250 residential care and treatment beds. next item, we laufrmd a hospital to combat the opioid epidemic. as part of the city's effort to reduce opioid overdoses. helps reduce opioid and along with methadone is the most affective treatment for opioid, reducing the risk of overdosing fatalities by up to 50%. under this new initiative will administration prior to taking individuals to a hospital, expanding patients to experiencing opioid withdrawals. the program started on april first. importantly, this effort builds on the dph work through a range of program and services. this includes hospitals, pharmacy and shelter and navigation centers. also celebrating the earth day, for april 22. by answering calls to environmental action and raising awareness of importance of protecting our natural resources. earth day is a way to keep san francisco safe and there are a lot of details that the environment does in relation ship to keeping our environment safe with operating more than 30 programs covering land, air water and schools and b

[applause] i also want to thank dph and dem, sister mary ellen and hsh and everyone for their partnership. we did not do this alone, and we continue to not do this alone. we saw a need as chief pang spoke about. both he and i work together as paramedic firefighters back in the day and i remember thinking, wow, he is really kind. he is really nice. he doesn't have a big ego and i would want him to take care of me, because he is so smart and good at what he does if anything ever happened to me. hopefully that won't happen simon, but just so you know. simon has been the architect, the main architect of community paramedicine, which is an alternative to policing and frankly alternative to just bringing people to the emergency room over and over again, which is when we saw that was not exactly what they needed. it has been really a iterative process developing the appropriate teams for the different needs that we have, and simon has been about helping the most vulnerable is and the most challenged people on our streets. he has a good heart. he does things for the right reasons, and i just resp

receiving a nine and a half million dollar continuum of care expansion grant from the state as well as dph has committed a significant amount of bond funds to the project as well as developer housing subsidy contributions from ticd. and that predevelopment work has commenced, and we will look forward to bringing that design to completion and breaking ground when the infrastructure is in place to support the building. looking then broadly at the transition housing strategy. i mentioned the first building and followed by star view court you can see where the behavioral health building is proposed to be located. we'll develop a second building on that same site which will be a building for seniors, and then our next two sites ic 4.3 and 2.3, 2.4 we anticipate developing those with and providing transition opportunities for roughly half of current home rise residents in each site at 4.3 and 2.3 and 2.4. those buildings as well as the senior building will all include some additional transition units for current residents of the villages. so then moving to the villages transition opportunities t
