dph will continue to monitor and follow up with cpm see on this issue. so the first provisions on this slide requires a cpm see to establish a center for excellence and community health. at the mission. bernal campus. the center named health first serves patients in chronic disease management by integrating community health workers into a multidisciplinary care team. health first served 652 unique patients in 2021, which was below the annual target of approximately 800 patients as fourth by the d. a. see pmc reported that covid 19 pandemic or the pandemic presented challenges in terms of patient hesitancy for coming in for services. and even when services were offered virtually um also due to the pandemic. the community advisory board did not meet in 2021 was replaced by series of phone interviews with providers and patients. so with the stabilization of covid cpm c expects patients to come back to health first and see pmc has indicated that health first will conduct additional outreach to community providers to increase referrals. dph staff will continu

our dph, the next item is our gph center for innovation. they were awarded a five-year grant for workforce diversity which is exciting. and just to also point out that the environmental health team is supporting changes to the regulations of hazardous waste storage. there's details there as well. and i did want to just acknowledge a piece of the work in dph that has done that's important to the health of residents but overlooked and an example, that's national women week. and national (indiscernible) that is critical for patient safety and prevention of infections and we know this to be true at zuckerberg san francisco hospital and laguna honda hospital. and just to give you? examples, zuckerberg, hospital receives $2.4 million pounds -- 2.4 million pounds of lynn nine. we make sure we're compliance 365-days a week and i want to recognize the leaders. with regard to our covid-19 update, our 7-day rolling average of new covid cases per day is 44. and 56 people were hospitalized including nine in innocencetive unit as of april 26th. 86% of al

, hsh. >> and are- >> and mostly dph. >> mostly dph. is anyone from dph here today? >> yes. >> who is that? because what i would say, i just feel like one thing that i learned from working in the labor movement all most a decade, the place you need to begin is by listening to the workers first. we heard from the workers today. regardless what the organization has said and it seems like-i feel actually bad for people that are there and not the executive director and think they are trying their best, but when we heard from the workers today, those that have come and those represented by the union here today, every single one of them felt as though they have been indimitated, uncomfortable, tried to come together to have their voice heard and every step of the way they have been denied and made to feel unwelcome, and this is a--supervisor peskin said, it is a very straight forward exercise. neutrality is the employer takes a step back and let the worker decide their determination and it seem s loud and clear the workers voice is intentiona

leadership you showed in holding the distributors accountable and i also want to acknowledge and thank the dph team of experts who testified as well our other city partners. commit today preventing overdose deaths through aggressive interventions. our priority is to bring people with substance use disorders into care and to save lives. with the addition of these settlements, dollars the city will help many on their journey to wellness and recovery. the national fentanyl crisis has affected cities across the country including san francisco. fentanyl a synthetic opioid is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent anmore phene. our strategy includes urgently distributing the medication of reversing overdoses. we distributed over 7 2000 of naloxone to save lives. and in resent months, we have trained 3300 people to recognize and respond to an overdose. the department has also made treatment for opioid disorder a key priority including using evidence based treatments including morphine and methadone accessible to people so that they can deal with their addiction and begin the journ

plan to provide hard copies to all the health commissioners and we plan to make it available on the dph website. we'll also work internally within the department to make sure everybody has access and able to point any community stakeholders to the report. >> it is a great resource. >> thank you so much. >> i also deliver a copy to librarian so always on hand to the public. >> commissioner guillermo. >> i want toland congratulations to well done report. it gets better every year and also glad to hear behavioral health data will be included when you think how much of the budget is spent on behavioral health and the realty of what is happening in san francisco with regard to substance abuse and behavioral health is really important both the demographics as well as the quantity of services and type of services that are provided. that being said, i think what is important about this report and to have distributed as widely as possible is the uniqueness of san francisco's helths department compared to others in the country, most don't have a health network incorporated in the public health de

and then we're also working with dph. they offer quantify urine, which is the tv blood tests that we do . you've probably heard of the tv skin test. the issue with the skin test is it has to be read 48 to 72 hours later, and a lot of our members are either 10 12 or 24 hour shifts and then they could be offer a number of days . so the department of few years ago went to a blood test. so you get the blood test done, and about a week or two. your result is back. and it's just one stop shop kind of thing. and then looking at our medical screenings for 2022. we had 235 roughly this. i was looking up our toxicology. your indirect screen results roughly 235 pre employment, physical exams, 117 promotional exams and 146 in the probation exams were currently screening into probations for ems and fire right now. um so it's been a busy time and we are screening the 1 32 h two academy right now as well and then we'll be screening, a ems class and about two weeks this is just a brief overview of injuries and illnesses in 2020 to 38 oh,

how many staffers are there in the house house and dph and dpm? thousands of staffers and not one person can take responsibility for this? enough is enough and so what i request of you is that the department of homelessness and supportive housing finally say "we are in charge. we are in charge, and we're going to figure out what the issue is preventing change in front of the navigation center that we fund in the neighborhood, and that we oversee the contract for the provider, and we are going to figure out why we can't make movement and then work with that department to make sure that change happens, and hsh has never that to my knowledge and tell me if i am wrong and every time i ask you who is responsible you tell me a different department. it's sam dodge. it's different staff members. it's carla shore but it's not working. it doesn't work that way. i need hsh to be responsible for this, so that not only -- >> [off mic]. >> in the mission all of my colleagues welcome thousand more beds into our neighborhoods and we fight off our own communities

>> i will let dph discuss. we had a meeting yesterday my staff participated and will let dph speak to it. we are absolutely having follow-up with pg&e, which is really important. again-and i'm looking forward hearing more about that, but my concern is i'm lead the first response for the city. when we have events where power is out for whatever reason, even if it's no apparent reason, we need a very close high level contact within pg&e that we feel confident in that we know we are getting the most timely, the most accurate information at the highest level and that is through our emergency operation center and that has been lacking. so, we have contacts, but we are not getting the information timely and we are not always getting the most accurate information we find out after the fact and that is what we like to resolve. >> if i were to ask you now, i know who to call at fire now. i know the protocols of what happens if there were a major earthquake. been through the trainings and member of the disaster council,

[applause] i also want to thank dph and dem, sister mary ellen and hsh and everyone for their partnership. we did not do this alone, and we continue to not do this alone. we saw a need as chief pang spoke about. both he and i work together as paramedic firefighters back in the day and i remember thinking, wow, he is really kind. he is really nice. he doesn't have a big ego and i would want him to take care of me, because he is so smart and good at what he does if anything ever happened to me. hopefully that won't happen simon, but just so you know. simon has been the architect, the main architect of community paramedicine, which is an alternative to policing and frankly alternative to just bringing people to the emergency room over and over again, which is when we saw that was not exactly what they needed. it has been really a iterative process developing the appropriate teams for the different needs that we have, and simon has been about helping the most vulnerable is and the most challenged people on our streets. he has a good heart. he does things for the right reasons, and i just resp
