and the next series of five year plans are the dpw land programs, the first is the street resurfacing and maintenance category. over the last five years, prop k has funded the resurfacing of about 100 blocks, and we have advanced prop k to support a higher annual budget and then we realized that tpw is also to spend the funds on time and then to work with the projects on time and this also helps the city maintain its goals to its pavement condition and score of as high as possible. and prop k gives the small piece of the revenue pie for the street resurfacing. and so, we are primarily funding the construction phases of projects that are proposed over the next five years. this does not represent the entire street resurfacing program, i will note, and the rest of the streets that are proposed to be resurfaced are included in one of the enclosures that i believe that it is enclosure h, to your packet. for this item so that you can see all of their planned projects over the next five years. the highlights of the street resurfacing category, over the next five years, we continued the plan

dpw has a mapping system that pulls in all of the planned work in the public right-of-way. in the developers that are doing the things in the public right-of-way. in the minimum it helps us avoid conflicts and beyond that it helps us identify opportunities to collaborate and bring projects together and i will give some examples of that later. but we are putting together much better tools to help us collaborate and in an departmental way and much more inner departmental readings and look for opportunities to put projects together to coordinate and collaborate. i know there is continuing work to do. we've actually stepped it up recently with mta and dpw and in my self years here we are much more collaborative between the agencies, much better able and willing to share information and work together and partner than i have seen in the past and we are on a trajectory to continue that which is a great thing. to close i was going to give you some examples of where these things have come together. so i will try to walk through them pretty fast. the caesar chavez streetscape project

and maybe the dpw also looks at area of high sidewalk lift and locations with existing extensive damage and this is a recurring annual request for prop k and conditioned upon approval of the five year priority, which is the subject of agenda item 8. this is 39,000 dollars to conduct the follow up planning to that effort and the funs from this project will be used for the development of the scopes of work and funding plans and the rfp for the next phase of the project related to the realignment of the southbound off-ramp and the closure of the northbound i280 on-ramp as well as from the funding for the inner agency staffing and i want to note that the transportation authority staff received the supportive action from the balboa park on this item. >> these are included in the plan to increase the safety. and this is the subject of this specific request and implementation and for a total of 4 intersections by the community and intersections in priority order, and arlington and wilder and the funds that will be used for the construction, and repaving and lecturn pockets and upgrading signal

and so, the cost of project is $5 and a quarter million dollars and dpw and rec park are going to pay the vast majority of that cost and what they are asking is that dbi take care of the private owner portion of that cost. and the which is about 1.8 million dollars. and so, the reason for the code amendment, is that the code for the recurring demolition funds says that the director of dbi can use this fund to address unsafe or conditions, if they determine that it is an emergency, or a very good need for the city, the problem with the code is that it says that the department can do that up to 50 percent of the value of a property being worked on. because this is a steep hill, there is actually not much value in the land, it is only worth about $12,000 and so for dbi to partner with the other city departments in fixing this hazard, if there is a large rock fall it could harm people in the street or the condo complex that is underneath. and they would like dbi to use their parent demolition fund to take care of the property owner portion of the repair. and we will bill the property owne

. >> why don't we call up from dpw stacey camille? >> good afternoon, i am the division manager for contracts at public works. so i am going to go over first i have a couple of slides here, the first slide we are going to talk about contracts awarded in 2122 of the past physical year, and if you notice on the left side of the page, of the 34 worded contracts and so the q122 we ordered 34 contracts and it is a combination of construction and professional services. and of those contracts, 26 were lbe primes, and 8 were not lbe primes and you will see the break out of the categories underneath that list, and so of those 26 primes, 13 were minority business enterprises and five were other business enterprises and seven were women-owned business enterprise and that one was an dbe, lbe. and then if you look to the right on that, and is the monetary awards and the total amount was 51.3 million or 2122 and of that 40 percent went to the lbe primes for 20.4 million and non-lbes got 8.5 and i broke it out to the right to give you an idea over a
