dr. anthony fouchi, thanks for being with me. comparing ebola to aids, is that a fair and accurate comparison? >> well, i think that dr. frieden's comment may have been taken a little bit out of context. what dr. frieden was saying, is there are some similarities, but there are more dissimilarities between ebola and aids. some of the similarities is that both of us, dr. frieden and i, back in the early '80s dealing with hiv/aids, there was a similar fear and concern and panic about the unknown. that, certainly, is a similarity. the similarity also is that the explosion and the rate of the infection with hiv and with ebola is early on outstripping resources, but the similarities really end there, because if you look at the magnitude of aids globally, it just completely dwarves what's going on and what will ever go on with ebola. so we've got to make sure that we don't make that strict comparison between aids and ebola, because that would be misleading. >> and i think that's why his comments caught a lot of folks off guard. you said
