dr. baden, forensic expert went through her first autopsy with us. have you ever seen a suicide like this. he said no. i never seen a suicide like this and but homicide either and i think it suicide. >> the family believes it was homicide, not suicide. her family believe there was foul play here. your report, the second autopsy has not now been completed. it was at carlo university, find masters catholic university where dr. wecht has his office. they exhumed the body. they flew the body from san diego to pittsburgh. the autopsy was completed 90 minutes ago. dr. wecht is informing the family exactly what he found. we don't know what he found. we do know he communicated to family his findings. there are plenty of things in your fine interview with dr. baden yesterday. he pointed out there are many, many aspects of this body that do not seem in sync with a suicide. jenna: like what, for example? >> the blood, if a person, who committed suicide and they were hanging, the blood would be presumably sunken all to the lower parts of extreme, you know when t

dr. michael baden is a forensic pathologist, a fox news contributor. doctor, you remember this case well. tell us a little bit about your experience with the investigation of this murderer. >> well, my experience had to do with the fact that i was then, at that time -- '78-'79 -- chief medical examiner in new york city, and bob stein who was the chief medical examiner in chicago used to consult with me on various cases. and we spent a lot of time discussing the exhumations as they went along and how he was handling it. i didn't go to the scene, i didn't go to the office, but we discussed it a great deal on the telephone. it was quite a case in those days and still is, apparently. jenna: so why now? why now revisit this case, do you think? >> well, i think the revisiting is stimulated by one of the moms of the son of the children, of the teenager who was identified back in 1979, one of the 33 deaths. and the mother had some question as to whether or not the identification was accurate because in those days, how we've changed, in those days it was before

we'll follow some of the new developments with dr. baden has joined us many times on the show, he's also a fox news contributor. we have the autopsy right here that we both have looked through, and you actually have drawn a diagram, your own diagram based on this autopsy, and you are flagging a few different parts that you think deserve special attention. what do you think is something we should pay attention to in the autopsy. >> i think the most important findings in the original autopsy is the ligature mark around the neck which is typical in a hanging case. there are hemorrhages in the eyes and fractures in the left side of the hoid bone and larynx of the neck which are usually not seen in traditional hanging. this was not traditional. there was a nine-foot drop off the balcony. jenna: do you think this warrants exhuming the body and taking a second look? >> the family always has the right to have a second opinion. it's becoming more frequent, it isn't just when you do surgery you need a second opinion, sometimes an autopsy can be wrong

dr. michael baden, told the "new york times" after looking at some of the video. his quote, it looks more like an execution than something that happened during a struggle. two pretty identical looking wounds that would have been hard to do from a distance. in other words, he said moammar gadhafi was shot twice in the head and the wounds were close together. so it seems unusual that that kind of damage would be caused if you're caught in the cross fire. are you convinced that that's how he died? or was it something different? >> no, no. i am convinced that when we, when our martyrs captured him and [ inaudible ] as he was describing the libyan, the brave libyan, they took him. they were taking him to a hospital. he was shot on his feet, and they were driving him from sirte, misurata. they were in an area where there was lots of cross fire. our people firing to the others and vice versa. and just shot him in the side of his head and he was dead. so i cannot tell you whether it was from far or near, but it was unintentional. no one decided to kill him or slaughter hi
