dr. harvey, thank you for everything you have said.ant to approach it from a little more of a social science perspective. can you talk a little bit about the continuing need for hbcu's in america? i have heard the discussion advanced that now with integration, we really don't need such colleges and universities as the hbcu's. can you talk about the continuing influence of these schools in america? i think you and i await your response. guest: thank you for that question. there is no doubt in my mind there is an acute need for us to continue. i talked earlier about the fact that some of the broader goals cannot be done without hbcu's. i will say to you if you look at some of the issues in our urban areas, in our schools, the fact is that we need to trade more -- train more african american teachers. we also need to train more african-american and latino male teachers to be in our classrooms all over the country, but particularly in our urban areas. now we, hbcu's, probably train more low income and disadvantaged students than any other
