dr. jeffrey sachs, rejoining us from new york. dr.achs, we were leaving off on this issue of what should the united states do to create jobs in the american economy. in that op-ed, david koch also said that america's economic freedom index shows that america is slipping in itself freedom rankings. actually that freedom index comes from the heritage foundation, but they -- they say that we're getting beat on freedom by switzerland, australia, new zealand, canada ireland, all of those advanced countries also happen to have higher average taxes as a percentage of gdp than we do. and most of these advanced countries also have higher quality of life indices. and that gdp tax comes from the heritage foundation as well. what does it tell you about the relationship between quality of life maybe even freedom and taxes? >> well, i'll tell you another index where america is getting beaten by a lot of countries, and that's the so-called transparency international index of corruption in government. the united states is ranking very high right now
