dr. marc siegel joins us now from the medical a team.g to the administration, apparently 1.1 million people did sign up, although it's unclear exactly how many got medicaid and stuff like that. and the estimate was 3.3 million would at this point. we're just a little short of that big mountain there. >> first of all, you already said it. a lot of 1.1 million is getting medicaid. number two, another big chunk of the 1.1 million has back-end problems meaning they got something but when they go to the doctor's office it may not work. six million have already lost their coverage at the same time one million is signing up. the overall goal here of getting more insured people isn't working at all. if anything, we're getting more uninsured. even if that problem is ultimately taken care of, i think there's a bigger problem which is that the undocumented -- i'm calling a new term today, the undocumented. this is people who think they have insurance but don't, so they get to see me, they can't see me. or they never signed up. they said, i know i q

dr. marc siegel from the fox news medical aid team joins us to separate flu shots fact and fiction.being here. last year 165 children tragically died as a result of the flu. is this a direct reaction to that in your mind? >> i believe it is. i think it's a direct connection. i think it's a bold initiative. it was a very severe flu season last year. so far milder this year. we haven't gotten to the peak. dr. varma deputy commissioner here in new york city is coming out saying, look, under the age of 5, that's when kids get severe complications. what the flu shot does best is it decreases severity. you have to create a herd immunity. kids are like a petri dish. preschool, everybody is sniffling, touching each other. you can't tell a kid wash their hands, stay away from another kid so it spreads from one to another. they will cut down on a tremendous amount of flu cases. i applaud this. >> the mandate is applauded. i'm sure a lot of parents are behind you. can you get the flu from a flu shot? let's go fact or fiction here. >> absolutely not. when they make a flu shot the first thing th

dr. marc siegel joins us with more. good morning. tell us about this medical mystery.sleep. she is thinking that's great. >> that is a great message. she thought this is the best year i ever had. i don't need sleep anymore. i'm exercising all the time. she was doing yoga every day, drink more and more water. but actually her body was hiding something. it was hiding a tumor and she didn't know it. >> the doctors found a tumor. did they remove it in time? >> she had a potassium level thaflts very -- that was very low. they started to investigate. they did an ultra sound and thought it was on her kidney. it was ten cent meters in size, huge. they managed to get the entire tumor and so far, so good. no recurrence. >> she takes medication every day to make sure it doesn't return and she's healthy now. how common this? >> extremely rare. one in several hundred thousand. very rare kind of tumor. we talk about an ovarian cancer which could be hidden and you don't know it until it is too late. something like thyroid disease is a problem where you have a lot of energy, you don't

dr. marc siegel. we're going to start cranking into these myths and see which ones are true or false.ill make kids hyper? >> that is a myth but almost all parents believe sugar will make kids hyper. one study out of yale shows it increases adrenaline. if you see kids going wild, you see i fed him ice cream or it must be the cake. it's not been shown scientifically to be the case. it's everything else, all the distractions and wild things going on. >> maybe the party, not the snacks. confetti is .onous if you eat them? >> that is a myth. there is one child who died in 1919 and they thought it was the poinsettia. they can make pets nauseous, vomiting but they are not poisonous. if you had a leaf of a poinsettia around christmas you're not going to get really ill and die tpwr it. it will make you a little nauseous but you will not die from it. >> eating at night won't make you fat? >> that's actually a fact. listen, eating any time will make you gain weight. it's not just night. the myth is your metabolism slows down and you eat at night and you're going to get fat. the problem at night
