dr. martin luther king, jr. and in keeping with the tradition, the annual freedom train will leave downtown san jose a little later this morning. lisa washington is at the diridon station in san jose where the train departs in four hours. >> reporter: 9:30. that's what time it will be leaving here from san jose and making four stops on the way to san francisco. caltrain's freedom train ride started 28-year-old by the dr. martin luther king, jr. association of santa clara valley. it was dr. king's wife coretta scott king, who originally started train rides after her husband was killed in 1968. of course it happened in memphis, tennessee. the freedom train ride goes from the south bay to san francisco, commemorating the 1965 march from selma to montgomery. that distance is 54 miles and the distance on the freedom train ride today is approximately the same. this train ride is a reduced fair. it will cost $10 roundtrip, making four stops. the first one departs san jose at 9:30 this morning, followed by sunnyvale at
