dr. samadi, how does this change? >> the american cancer society recommends starting at the age of 40 all the way to 84 every year. but that's quite expensive. that's about $10 billion package. the second package which is this one, started from u.s. task force in 2009. and now this study that was published in the internal medicine coming from ucsf whether you will miss the package. and the worst from all of them is a european one between the age of 50 and 70. that's at $2.6 billion. the big question you have to ask is, what is the price of saving someone's life? the cost is about $250,000 per year. all of us are a big advocate of screening, whether it's a mammogram -- oh, of course. >> i agree where david is going with this. i think that knowledge is power. and if we do mammograms and they find a problem, women want to know. here's the data on mammograms. 89% of sensitive in early picking up bra-- there's qualitf life to consider. there's not a woman out there that wouldn't want to know they have breast cancer. it's u

dr. samadi, i've had it. i wear glasses.ye. >> you get a few -- for the first time after years and years of covering the olympics, this is a bacterial or viral. it lasts about two weeks. there's really no good treatment. it has to disappear on his own. the best thing is washing your eyes and cleaning it up, making sure that the inflammation, conjunctive a is the layer covering the eye. when it gets inflamed, you have a lot of blood vessels that send them and you get inflammation and the red eye. in this case we think it's an infection. with bacterial infection, you have antibiotics, either strep or staph infection that we can give you. this could be exactly what you said. it could be the trauma from having his lens there and got infected. and you're right, you don't want to touch your eyes. if you get any infection there, you're done. one of the big thing is stop sharing towels. these are very, very contagious, pink eye. especially the viral one. somebody else is using the towel and you touch it, right there you have it. mak

dr. samadi, first of all, what is shingles and is shingles contagious inspect. >> you don't become contagious as a result of getting the vaccine. shingles is really the result of a virus. it's almost like chicken pox. so if you get chicken pox when you are young, that virus stay necessary your nerves and it stays quiet. you can go on for the rest of your life and never get shingles. but if you're under stress or for unknown reasons, shing that virus will go through that nerve and you will get shingles and it's painful. so that's what it is. cdc is recommending getting these vaccines over the age of 60 because that's where the pluck of shingles exists. you don't get shingles or get contagious as a result of this. but if somebody has shingles, okay, and i'm exposed to them, i don't get shingles. but if i've never had chicken pox, i can get chicken pox from that person. this person doesn't have shingles. he or she went to get the vaccine, which sa good thing. i think the person is not contagious. >> the grandchildren are young and maybe didn't have chicken pox. i want to say the shingles vaccine

dr. samadi, i thought you're not supposed to drink distilled water, just put it in your iron. >> he gaveim the answer. distilled wine is going through a lot of the purification. you remove all the contan namts, and all the minerals. you don't want to drink that and it's not a good one. springwater is okay, but people think it's coming from the mountain. it's springwater. it's fresh. it's great for you. but those bottled water also have a problem because they had all these bpas and arsenic and other things in them. for me, the best one is the tap water with the carbon activated filter. that's the best one you can have. and there's a site that i want you to go to. water.epa.gov. you can check the quality of your water based on the zip code and see what kind of water you're drinking. but if you have one of these carbon activated ones, you keep the minerals, keep the good ones and you get rid of the copper and lead contaminates. >> but the springwater is supposed to be great for you. >> apparently not. >> but sometimes you look at it and it says municipal water supply some place. what's that

dr. samadi knows the answer. >> what do you take?ok, i'm sensitive about my hair and i want to preserve it. there were a lot of programs saying that teach of the vitamins are not good and that is probably maybe true. if you take a lot of vitamin." we know it increases your prostate cancer but certain vitamins are absolutely if my opinion great. we should be taking biotin so 500 milligrams is good and i like niacin, all the b complex are great for hair and skin and the other is sillica and i take biotin each day. you may not grow new hair but you can reserve it. that accident mean if you take three of them it is better. just stick to it. >> biotin works. if you have a well balanced diet and all the proportional prunings and vegetables and you listen to us each sunday you don't need it but i work hard and have a lot of energies and i may not get the well buildingsed diet which i should so i take supplements. >> all the vitamins you need are in the diet. fish oil was studied and found to decrease hair loss and be good for the nails. >>
