dr. sanjay gupta. we just heard both sides give their take on obamacare.m a doctor's perspective, what are you sighieeing regardi obamacare? >> every hospital in america takes care of a certain number of patients who are referred to as indigent, uninsured or underinsured. what you saw over the last seven years is simply more patients had insurance. what that means practically is the hospital is more likely to get paid, but patients were more likely to come in earlier in the course of their disease until waiting quite late in the course of their disease. if you prescribed medications, because of prescription drug coverage they could get those medications. in my case, i'm a neurosurgeon. if i scheduled surgery, i'd encounter patients who would have this problem, needed surgery, but you wouldn't see them again because think couldn't afford an operation or it would put them in bankruptcy. that situation has changed. primarily imd gent care hospitals, but again, all hospitals, i think, have been impacted by their is in some wa. >> what does the greater medical

dr. sanjay gupta. guys, great to have you, thanks so much for being here.epublicans might not even know the answer to this. lay it out for us. what's in the bill, what's out of the bill at this moment? >> reporter: kate, you've been hearing all week a lot of conservative republicans on capitol hill referring to this bill as obamacare-lite or obamacare 2. that's because they think this bill doesn't go far enough in gutting obamacare. but if you speak to supporters of obamacare, people who depend on this law, they would actually argue that this bill gets rid of some of the fundamental pillars of obamacare. let's just talk through what this bill actually has. this bill would repeal obamacare subsidies, these subsidies would be replaced by refundable tax credits that would be determined by age and income. the house has also decided to set aside some $85 billion for tax credits that would be for older americans. this came because a lot of lawmakers said they were concerned a lot of their older constituents would be negatively hurt by this. third, this bill would
