dr. ashley solomon executive clinical director with eating recovery center ohio. thank you for coming in. some of the things you want to talk about is the broad look at eating disorders and how it is not just a teenage focus. >> absolutely. one of the major myths about eating disorders is that they are not life-threatening, serious illnesses. a lot of people still have the perception that eating disorders are a lifestyle choice or bad eating habits gone astray. actually, what we know is that eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any they affect people of all genders, races, ethnicities. we are seeing a lot more eating disorders than men -- in midlife women and boys and men. jennifer: i think you are right. the national thought is to attach it to a teenager. like. people develop disorders. >> absolutely. there has been a lot more research that has been helpful for us to understand the basis of eating disorders. we know there is a strong genetic link. people that develop eating disorders have a genetic predisposition to the development of eating disord
