guest: i have spoken with dr. tom price, and he had a standpoint from a medical view as a surgeon. that thetood combination of behavioral and physical health is important. so, what is it about these folks? when they have untreated mental illness, it can double the costs. it is a matter of working arefully, because those high risk pools. we want to get the position to ordinate care -- two coordinate care and make sure what they need is there. in the past, it has been on your own. when a mother brings a 17-year-old into an office and hels the professional that is delusional, having problems, and they returned with is he a threat for violence, and she says no -- then they say there's nothing they can do. is a problem. the follow-up needs to be 95%. however, it drops down to 45%. the numbers are similar when someone goes into an emergency room with a drug overdose. you need to get treatment right away. if you get the full treatment immediately right there, you by 50%. it is about getting efficient, effective care immediately. host: john is calling in on the democratic line from ireland

dr. tom price has had a replacement plan for a long time that he has reintroduced every year. most recent iteration of that was hr 2300. there are lots of plants that we could base the starting point on. for me as a physician, the main thing we have to do is make sure has accessamerican and availability to low-cost, health insurance coverage. so that you can take care of that for your self and your family. it is true that 20 million more americans have coverage under the affordable care act. remember that 5 million or so lost their private-sector health insurance coverage in the individual market place when obamacare was it lamented. approximately 28 million, 10% of our population or so, are still uninsured mostly by choice. partially because the expense of the affordable care act are so high. the premiums are too high. even with subsidies, people are finding it difficult to afford health care. there are a number of plans out there as i have said. literally, honestly, hundreds of republican pieces of legislation to address specific problems with the affordable care act. host:
