while the couple shared a dream of running a small dairy farm, alan also had a dream of serving in the military. so, stephanie encouraged alan to pursue his dream and dedicated herself to running the family farm. "i couldn't wait for him to get a hold of that passion or that thing that he wanted to do in life. and he has that now." alan's work ethic and motivation, which were second nature on the farm, helped with his military training.
