dreamforce starts at 8:00 a.m. and runs through friday night. >> reporter: i'm cate cauguiran live in middletown with some new numbers on the valley fire. we now know it's burned up to 67,000 acres. about 15% contained but the damage here is still devastating. and widespread. we're learning also more about the woman who lost her life to this fire. lake county officials say she never had a chance. as the wildfire raged from the hillsides ravaging homes, 72- year-old barbara mcwilliams was trapped and lived in an area called anderson springs. officials say she wasn't able to join the 20,000 evacuees as they raced the flames to safety. cal fire says the damage is now close to 600 homes lost and thousands more threatened by this fast growing fire. on the front lines firefighters did get a little bit of relief. skies cleared up just enough for air support to drop from above. i'm sure they're hoping for that today. firefighters on the ground were digging in as flames from the valley fire continued to roll down the hillsi

. >>> hundreds of thousands of people are descending on san francisco for dreamforce. but for many, it's not a dream come true. kiet do has more. >> reporter: yes, dreamforce is being billed as the largest software convention on earth. the company is boasting 160,000 attendees. that is roughly the population of sunnyvale crammed into the already crowded san francisco. as a result, dreamforce now has a laundry list of detours and road closures and muni bus rerouting to talk about. visitors are being hold to take -- told to take application transportation and being -- public transportation and being warned of heavy foot traffic. this is only day two of five. the conference wraps up on friday. now with all these people in town, there simply aren't enough hotel rooms to go around so 1100 attendees are staying in an unusual spot. it's a cruise ship that's been dubbed the dream boat and it's docked at pier 27. salesforce partnered with celebrity cruises to offer these unique accommodations after thousands of people got stuck paying a premium last year. rooms on the ship star

the annuals dreamforce conference hits off with an all-time high.lipton joins us from pier 27 in san francisco. josh? >> reporter: well, jon, just how big is dreamforce this year? well, let me give you an idea. it's so big that sales force had to charter this ship in order to accommodate more guests. this is a full luxury cruise liner complete with pools, hot tub, fine dining, even a martini bar, and all 1,100 rooms already sold out. with some going for 850 per night. try to get a hotel room in sf this week, it's going to cost you. the rates for hotel rooms have jumped more than 90% versus the prior week according to hotel tonight. that's just because dreamforce is the biggest tech conference of the year in san francisco with attendance. it's going to hill a record 150,000 this year. that could be bad news for traffic but sales force telling me they are working closely with the city to minimize disruption to the residents as much as possible. so what is though the point of this big party? sales force wants to promote its platform and bring together
